My wife gave a me an ACOG for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. I finally got time to take it to the range today and get it sighted in. The range is an indoor range and the lighting is pretty bad, so it's kinda hard to see the target at 100 yards. Below is a target fired at 100 yards using 20 year old American Eagle 55gr FMJ. The rifle is a Colt Tactical Carbine 16". I fired these rounds rather quickly, about one every 2 seconds. One note: the magnification seems pretty weak for a 4x.

I hear that scope is great for big game hunting. When you shoot elephants it's like hitting prarie dogs.

What ja need that damn thing for anyway… most of the folks here can shoot 1 inch groups bending over looking through their knees with iron sights in the fog… just ask them.

That explains alot. No wonder the bullet impact adjustments changed the impact in the opposite direction from how they are marked.

I like the inclusion on the ruler for scale when the target has 1" grid squares preprinted and we know the bullet holes are approximately .22"

Wait... ya mean an AR shoots .22 caliber bullets???? Is that LR, L, or Shorts?

A dedicated AK guy here... at least until I get a new job and can afford an AR.

Yeah, the astrodome had to be used for something after the big franchises moved to the new stadiums.

Southern hemisphere, actually. Probably Australian Special Forces. It's called the Coriolis Effect, you can look it up.
