I built many ar's but alas none of them were for me,Don't have the money right now to build one for myself
 I did have a nice colt pre ban thats was a gift from a certain person but that person got pissed at something and said they wanted it back that was over 2 months ago and I haven't talked to them since.It's a long story that i found out later so now I'm waiting for the trolls of the board to start attacking me for my post

Was unemployed for about 6 months and had to pawn my AR to pay the gas bill (this was in winter). Was a very sad day :(. ATM all I got is my SAR-1. Saving my pennies to get another in a few months.

wife was out of work, just sold my post ban colt to raise money.
i'll consider it trading up, though, because i'll buy another with all the evil features to replace the one sold. |

Why would I buy one? Uncle Same lets me play with his AR's a couple of times a year . . . but really it is a cash thing. Unemployed . . . failed business . . . just back from BCT . . . want to buy a house.

Not true, I live in California and have two. The evil kind with... gasp.. bayonet lugs and threaded barrels, pistol grips and .....oh the humanity... 30 round magazines. Ya just had to have em before the ban and then register them like I did or get a Department Letterhead if you are a cop and wanted to get one after the ban went into effect. |

Many reasons
I cant find the right one, there are so many options that it gets a bit crazy. rails or no, fixed sights or optics, what grip... Forearm grip? Light or no lite. CQB config or varmiter length. Barrel? 9mm or 5.56? (Indoor range considerations) I think I am really waiting for the ban to lift. |

Dont have the cash im 15 and all my money goes towards collage and a truck. I already have 2 hunting shotguns, 22 rifle, sidearm, ak for fun, 22-250 for varmit, and my 7mm mag for large game. I cant keep up on ammo the way it is. If i had the cash I would own one.

I think the PRK sales ban was Dec 99. And then Ban #2 (registration) was 2000 or 2001.
I've got one AR but man, that ban has kept me from building bunches more lowers. I got me some mad tools in the garage...  Chris

Cant decide on config.
Wanted a plain jane 20. Then a tactical M4. Then a precision varminter. Now a service style 20" but with Hi Power goodness. Probably build a kit gun but with NM sights and a trigger. |

I use to own a Bushmaster XM15 rifle and fired 10,000 rds out of it then *SOLD* it, I didnt want to register it so I got rid of it and used the money for other projects.
