With the profusion of idiocy on the internet and the complete maze of contradictory information and laws around the world, it may also be that they really have not even considered such aspects. I've encountered a fair number of people, typically younger, that seem to think anything that can be addressed with a few Google searches and PayPal is good to go.
Your observation may be 100% correct, but I'd look for more specific details. Media, control advocates, LEO, revenuers...looking for something to get offended about are all just as likely.

I've been asked the question more than once via my company website too.
A lot of the traditional channels (for the UK) dried up and inside the UK I know of only one AR15 manufacturer who actually holds an import license. His prices need to be high (ITAR license, export/import license, shipping, duty, VAT and profit) I am seeing an uptick in people trying to get stuff shipped under the radar. I rarely see anyone outside of the UK (Germany and Sweden are two that have come up) but its mostly the English lot. |

They used to not be able to do a jumping jack. Now they have tanks and night vision and kbiw how to use sights. Thanks government. |
