Did anybody catch Mark Owen on Sunday nights 60 minutes? They were talking with him again about his book and the problems it's caused him, and he has a new book out as well, No Hero is the name I think.

There's nothing in that book that's classified, and anyone who thinks "Mark Owen" would go about violating OPSEC with the publication of that novel is a fucking retard. Many of his teammates are STILL on active duty. Joe fucking Biden is the dipshit who spilled the beans on DEVGRU being involved in the raid. And I nearly shit myself when I saw the page-shot of his new novel where the .mil sensors redacted ST6 from the pages. Gimme a goddamn break; Disney tried to buy the rights to "SEAL Team Six" a few years ago, IIRC. They're not gonna be happy until they seize all the proceeds from the sale of that novel and ruin his name. BUT, he was technically sworn to secrecy and he was the one who rolled the dice and decided to write that book... |

I worked on Ryan:
Sharkbase was just next door. He walks (with help) into our station and he's ready to go back out there and I'm all HOLY SHIT! Good guy. Ended up blind, but was able to get married, get his degree, be a father, and climbed Mt. Rainier. He said that if he was going to be a blind man, he'd be the best damend blind guy he could be. At the particular FOB where I was working in Kunduz province, Assholeistan, possession of a camera was an immediate ticket home and a permanent 86 from the DoD contracting community. There was a guy or two who tried to test that theory. The hypothesis was proven.
 I guess they didn't think the DoD would bother to check our FB accounts. WRONG.
There are things and people that the world doesn't need to know everything about. I don't know, and I was there. You know what? I like it that way.
