Wow. I would keep it and shoot it once a year on your grandfather's birthday.

Sweet!
The receipt says Nickel, but is it really stainless? I don't know much about Colt revolvers... |
|
Very nice - and I would definitely shoot it - and think of Gramps kindly during and while cleaning it up afterwards.
Then makes plans on who gets to "sell it" when it's your time to "double your money". |

I think even a Colt hater would have to love that gun.

I love posts like this......I envision my kids & grandkids getting to do the same.
Now go shoot that revolver. ![]() |

Honestly, if it was me, I'd buy it from him and lock it in my safe. Forever.

Wow. That's a gorgeous firearm. I'd do like you said: Buy it from him and shoot it on a special occasion, like his birthday as another poster said

So you buying it, or putting it on EE? I don't see that beauty lasting long.
|
|
Buy it, if for no other reason that it was your Grandfathers.
I have a Colt Trooper, Immigration Inspector Special I bought from an outgoing Chief a couple years ago. I paid $600 for it, never been fired, with the original receipt. |

I didn't look very close, but if it doesn't have a turn line it will probably bring a little more than one with a turn line. |

That is one sweet shooting pistol. I have the privlidge of slinging about 20 rounds downrange a few weeks ago when a bunch of guys in my unit were out for some informal shooting.

I'll give you 5 bucks for it.
It's not that old and has scratches on it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Blued ones are running mid 600 range on gunsamerica/gunbroker. For nickel (Colt never did the Lawman in stainless) with box and papers, you could do even better. Not quite as desirable as the older Colts but still a very nice piece. Colt anything has been going thru the roof in recent years.

I showed it to a gun store buddy yesterday and he said that it's worth around $750 |

Just think how cheap it would have been if he had bought it somewhere other than Carter's Country lol. |

I am not a big fan of modern Colt revolvers, but that is BEAUTIFUL - and from your Grandfather to boot. Congratulations. Now plan to pass it on down to your grandkids some day
