I had an interesting experience with Conley also. A month or so back I listed 6 UZI 25 round mags for $85.00 shipped on the boards. I didn't have any takers for a week or so. I got an e-mail from Conley offering $65.00 shipped for the 6 mags. I accepted his offer and sent the mags via USPS First class mail. He beat me up $20.00, so I sent them the cheapest way possible. I usually ship via USPS Priority Mail insured with delivery confirmation or UPS from work depending on the item and I always provide them with the tracking/delivery confirmation numbers.
A few weeks goes by and I get an e-mail from Conley that the mags never showed up. We e-mailed each other back and forth and he asked " why I didn't send them Priority mail and with delivery confirmation " I told him, I normally would but because he was being a cheap bastard, I sent them snail mail.
Then he goes off on me saying " with that response, I bet you never even sent them, I want my money back through Pay Pal now !" I told him, how do I know if you didn't get the mags ? He said he didn't and he wants a refund now and he would return them if he gets them ! very suspicious, wouldn't you want to resend the refunded payment and keep them ?
I did the right thing and gave him a refund and I was pretty certain the mags were lost too. Eventually I got them back due to a error on the address label.
This left a bad gut feeling dealing with Conley and I told myself that I would never do business with him ever again.
Today he e-mails me inquiring about my UZI carbine for sale and offers me his 9mm RRA AR-15 as trade. I told him I already have a preban 9mm AR and I don't need another and that I needed the cash. He then replied that my price was tooooooooooooooo high ! I looked at the ad again and reduced the price. He e-mailed me again saying Vector Arms sells them new for $795.00 and the three mags are worth $50.00, " still too high ". I replied Vector sells them for $875.00 + $18.00 shipping. He then replied, the gun is worth half for what it retails for because its a used gun " 1 or 1000 rounds " and " its Holiday time, people are short on cash ". He also sent a picture of a UZI he recently bought for $500.00 with extras and what looks like 300-400 rounds of ammo with it as well.
I replied "his money is no good with me in the future".
Bottom line to the story is CONLEY " YOU ARE A CHEAP BASTARD ! " People should be very careful dealing with you. I can't wait to hear from you about this. You have a measly +1 rating on Wilson's feedback rating system to my +93.
Marauder, I am with you on this one and people should be aware of Conleys business practices.
Happy Holidays !
