Looking for Leupold scopes, SS 10X40, some other tactical sight system,
The M68 is manufactured by Aimpoint and is also known as the CompM ("M" for military). It is a passive red dot collimator reflex sight, with a 26 mm objective. It is powered by a 3-volt lithium battery with a reported relative life of 100 to 1,000 hours depending on the intensity settings used for the red dot.
The Aimpoint M68, at 6 ozs., is a surprisingly small package. Its 3-m.o.a. red dot is controlled with 10 brightness settings, the lowest being "NVD" for use with a night vision device and the highest being "extra bright." In between, the setting range is designed for various daylight conditions.
The unlimited eye relief of the Aimpoint allows the sight to be placed anywhere on the M1913 Picatinny rail. It is used in conjunction with laser designators also issued "one each" in conjunction with the Aimpoint. It also works well with night vision optics, most usually the PVS-14 monocular night vision device (MNVD)-the remarkably compact third-generation unit used either helmet-mounted or clamped to the rifle's rail behind the Aimpoint.
