In the interest of fairness and full disclosure I made the post pretty long, but here's the gist: I bought two "Never Used" 1911 parts, but they were in terrible condition. I haven't heard from the seller in over a week. (Now two weeks).
UPDATE: It has been MONTHS now and after I sent back the parts to the seller to get them exchanged he emailed me to say he thought one was fine but that he would get a replacement from the manufacturer for the other part. I have not heard from him 11/24.
I posted an ad in the WTB section for 1911 parts; specifically a grip safety and a hammer. VWCraig emailed me via ARFCOM and said he had two New/Never Used parts that he would sell me. We agreed on a price of $75. When I received the parts, it was clear they had been through heavy use. The grip safety in particular had a huge chip in it. I will post pictures and I apologize for the size, but it's necessary to see the condition of the parts.
I received the parts a week and a half ago, emailed him that I was not happy with their condition, and asked for him to take care of the problem. He replied with some ambiguous comment about contacting Midway, but I have emailed him again since and I have not heard from him. His user stats show he has been on ARFCOM today and he posted yesterday.
I'm fine with the hammer being used, it's not a big deal, I'll take it, but I don't want to wait around for several weeks for him to fix a problem with a $35 safety. I was going to wait until later to post this if things didn't get worked out because I thought he might be busy but the fact that I haven't heard from him in a week and that he's posted on ARFCOM made me decide to post it now. (I also asked a mod for advice and he said I should go ahead and post).
