No. Crimson trace are laser grips. A Lasermax is a patented laser sighting system that replaces the spring guide and takedown lever. The laser is built into the spring guide so that the laser is just underneath the barrel. The takedown lever on a lasermax unit has the laser activation button. Do a google search for lasermax and it will come up with their website where they explain all the details on the lasermax. However, your question is moot as the lasermax, as noted in the description is NOT included at the price listed. the picture was taken prior to the replacement parts arriving. Currently the P229 sports the standard spring guide and takedown lever and the Lasermax IS NOT included. I had too many people gag at the price with the lasermax included and have sold the lasermax elsewhere.
Additionally, the grips on the P226 are standard grips from the early 1990's.
let me know if you need anything else.
Edited to add:
We're talking past each other here... the pin you are talking about is the lasermax activation button. The lasermax is no longer on the gun and not included. The takedown lever has been replaced with a standard take down lever. The picture of the gun was taken when the lasermax unit was still installed but my digi cam is possessed and works less often than a welfare recipient which is why I haven't updated the picture. but, so we're all on the same page, the takedown lever "pin" which is in question is the lasermax activitation switch/button. The lasermax is not included for the price listed. The takedown lever, and spring guide have been replaced with standard factory parts.
