Resolved to my satisfaction.

I spoke with James today - all set. Lesson learned....be sure to call any vendor without feedback on AR15.com to verify a business and assure yourself that your expectations will be met. Mine were not, so after a follow up phone call this afternoon things were clarified and everything is all set now.

The problem is that aside from AR15.com, were vendors are expected to stay on top of online correspondance, other folks don't know the assumed protocol and in lieu of that...the customer (ie Hokie) can get pretty fired up.

Pending the arrival of my slide, I will leave XD-HS2000.com some feedback and recommendations for others who need XD work done by a qualified gunsmith.

That really sucks! I hope you get your slide back immediately and all is well.

OH CRAP! I sent mine to them on the 14th for Duracoat and the same sights. I will be giving him a call today! I was told two weeks turn around time on mine. Huuuuuummmm! I will post an update.

I tried to called and I got an error that this is not a recognized mail box.

I emailed him a few weeks ago wanting a refinish and some sights installed on my XD and he never responded. I'm glad he didn't now.

ETA: I sent my slide for the refinish to Canyon Creek instead.

Did a simple purchase with James about two months back. Ordered an XD Gear paddle holster and a Fobus double mag paddle holder. I got email notification of shipping, with no tracking information and about two and half weeks later nothing had shown so I gave him a call. He answered as "This is James" and I got the distinct feeling that xd-hs2000.com is something he's running on the side seperate from his normal day to day. He told me he'd reship my order since he had no way to track it. I guess he doesn't have a UPS or Fedex account, nor does he use USPS Priority. Seems like a poor way to cut corners to me. That said, he is (or atleast was) spoken highly of on the xdtalk.com forums and because of that I had been planning on trusting him with a duracoat refinishing and sight purchase/installation in a month or two.
