So, why not give the dealers their own EE and let them bump their fellow dealers' ads not the simple common man jus tryin to sell a couple items.
The NEW PARTS sections were set up primarily as Dealer or Industry Partner sections. Regular members and 'guests', generally are not selling New Products, they are selling stuff they no longer have use for or extra parts they don't need. Hence the "Used Part" section.
As an Industry Partner I notice guys selling multipuls of the same parts in the EE without paying any dealer fee's to the board. Basically they are getting a free ride until the Mods catch up with them.
Yes, many dealers and Industry Partners sell many of the same items for similar prices, usually wayyyyyy below what you would pay for it at your local gun shop and sales tax free to boot.
Many of us have connections deep inside the Industry and ARF.comers get to see new, innovative and improved products here on ARF.com light years before you would see it in any gun shop or gun rag. Basically on a lot of new stuff we keep leading edge gear available and let you know about it first.
I have never and will never use the 'Used Parts' section to sham an ad for new parts. If I have used stuff, and belive me I have plenty to clear out, I may do a big ass clearence ad of used stuff. But to use the 'Used Parts' section of the board to sell new stuff by dealers is wrong and I don't condone it at all.
The EE can be a very useful resource to gain insight, descriptions and information about what's new for the AR16/M16 rifle.
As dealer and Industry Partners are all competing for your business you get some of the best pricing on quality parts available. The more competition in the EE the more you benefit cost wise.
Generally you guys receive the fastest shipping and best service buying from dealers and Industry Partners in the EE because if we don't provide it there is FeedBack where a bad dealer is quickly outed. Also generally most of the negative feedback I read is about individuals not dealers or Industry Partners. This is due to the high standards set by ARF.com.
As far as the technical sections or discussion sections go an Industry Partner is allowed to post ads there, we pay a hefty fee for that priviledge. My posts there are usually about a new product we are carrying or one I am developing or thinking of developing. I ask questions of the members about new products I am developing or thinking of developing because I value the opinions of the members here.
I might also add that I do my best to use my 25 years of experience as a gunsmith and expertise with the M16/AR15 to help members with problems with their rifles. I also spend hours on the phone every week giving free advice. I like helping guys with problems and am always available as a resource free of charge.
No regular member is going to be selling new parts on a regular basis in the EE. If he does he is a DEALER!! and should be paying to be one. If you are looking for bargins on used parts just skip the dealer dominated sections of the EE and go to 'Parts Used'. Juan & Company have made the separation in the EE for the very reason you are complaining about.
I might also add that I buy a lot of gear that I don't carry from dealers and individuals selling in the EE. It is not a one way street with me, I am a buyer too.
All the best,
