i bought this rifle off a trade here about a year ago...i love it but i've lost access to the farms in NJ where i hunt groundhogs. i'd say the rifle is 97%. there are wear marks on the action from the bolt sliding back and forth....but other than those small slide marks.....the blue is still in perfect condition. i've put about 180 rounds through the rifle since i got it...and the barrel still looks amazing. the rifle was taken very good care of....as all my firearms are.
the rifle comes with scope mounts but no rifle scope. this rifle shoots GREAT! it actually shoots much better then i can....i was good at nabbing groundhogs out to 250 yards...but with a better shooter i'm sure you could push that out to 400 no problem...maybe even further.
i'm asking $900 OBO local pickup or $925 shipping anywhere in the great USA
if interested i also have dies for reloading and some components left over. probably about 300 bullets of different manufacturer, and RCBS die sets.
since i don't get a chance very often to check in here during work hours please e-mail me at my office....the address is Jeremy@franklinfarmseast.com
i've attached an article i found on the rifle below in case you're wondering what this rifle is....weatherby stopped making it in 2005 so it should become something to collect in 20 years or so.
"The Mark V Special Varmint Rifle (SVR) is the result of demands for a quality hunting rifle at an affordable price. Weatherby pulled different aspects from the Super Varmint Master and Accumark to create this rifle. It boasts a 22-inch moly-chrome 4140 steel Kreiger Criterion button-rifled barrel that has been hand lapped and free floated to provide maximum accuracy. The action is the Mark V and the stock is a hand-laminated composite using aramid fibres, graphite, and fibreglass for a rigid shooting platform. A factory-tuned fully adjustable trigger rounds out the package. The SVR is available in .223 Rem and .22-250 Rem and comes with Weatherby's accuracy guarantee of a 1 1/2-inch three-shot group at 100 yards with factory ammunition"
