Below is what I have pieced together from reading the posts and speaking to all parties involved (including the FFL):wackbag
's xfer dealer received an UNSIGNED
copy of an FFL from BG88
, this is what the dealer told me was the reason it wasn't shipped. He had no contact info to inform wackbag
of this, and feels that this "issue" is partialy his fault. Very nice guy at the FFL, I enlightened him about eZCheck and the new rule on faxed FFLs being OK. I should restate: It wasn't because the FFL wasn't red/blue ink signed, the FFL he received was NOT SIGNED AT ALL. This is the reason the gunshop didn't ship the M44 to Bg88
5 months ago. He still has the M44, and states it is in "beautiful" condition <sic>. He just needs an FFL from whoever is going to receive it to send it out.wackbag
did not leave his contact info with the Dealer, so the FFL had no way to get ahold of him to notifiy him of this problem. At the same time, wackbag
changed from AOL to a new ISP, took a few month hiatus from ARF, then came back purchased a Gold Account and has been using that for email. He didn't realize there was an "open deal" on his old AOL address that he doesn't have anymore. wackbag
should have provided BoltGun88
with at least two methods to contact him by phone (home/work or cell/home or cell/work, etc. etc.), and or an alternate email (work, yahoo, etc.). This didn't happen. wackbag also should have given the FFL this information, as that oversight would have avoided this situation ENTIRELY!
All of this time, BoltGun88 was trying (in vain, along with mods) to email wackbag at his non-functional email address. IM's were sent, but they apparently expired or for some other reason didn't get through when he logged back on (I suspect Board Upgrade, since it happened during this time). BoltGun88 exhibited a level of patience I have not seen before, which made this deal explode into a fury of emotions rather than facts once the other member was found. There are other ways BoltGun88 could have attempted to contact wackbag, but it would have been better if received from wackbag multiple current contact phone numbers at the time of the deal. Sending a snail mail letter over a $100 deal just might not seem "worth it".
I am not making excuses for anybody, or saying who is right/wrong. I am simply posting the "3rd party observer" side of the entire deal from a few steps back. This post is ENTIRELY for informational purposes and not intended to make either or both parties "look bad"
