Bring on the offers fellers!!!
I am in Newnan, GA - about 1/2 hour south of the ATL airport.
I have pics to send you - if you have any interest please send me your e-mail addy so I can send you some pics.
10-22 - bought new stainless gun with wood stock - professional barrel cut down and recrown to 16.1". modest 4X scope with mil-dot ranging reticle. Home cammo job using natural foilage with brown, khaki and green. 1 30 round steel lips magazine - works great - also camo'd as you can see in the pics. X2 additional ruger factory 10 round mags. Volquartsen bolt handle and magazine release. I also shortened and reshaped the forend - I cut off a few inches, shaped and sanded. Just plain lots of fun and a pretty cool little survival rifle I think. I built it up for my son several years back and while we had lots of fun together with it - he has discovered girls and lost interest in it.
I think I have 450 bucks in this with the gunsmithing to cut down the barrel and recrown it along with the Volquartsen parts - sell it to you for 225 FTF or 245 shipped to your FFL.
Mosin Scout - reading some threads on milsurps and partisan snipers got me curious about the idea. The gun was 90 bucks, the scope was 75 bucks but I think it lists for 150 (the guy owed me a favor). The mount is rock solid and was about 65 bucks if memory serves. The barrel is MINT - I doubt it had ever been fired before I got it - but the exterior bluing is age worn. I cut back the barrel to 16.5 inches myself and crowned it. The scope is a simmons 2X long eye relief scout scope. I can shoot it into 1 inch at 50 yards over my backpack with S&B ball - I imagine a better shot could do even better than that -but the point here is that it works. The trigger is very nice for what it is - although no work has been done to clean it up that I am aware of. I tore up a Hadji scarf I got in iraq and made a guilly suit for the rifle itself - easy enough to take off if you don't dig it - but I think it works great for breaking up the outline. I fired it with just the wood stock with no recoil pad and I was only wearing a T-shirt - I expected it to hurt something serious - but it really did not. Brisk , but not painful. Anyway - Walmart had Pachmyr declerator slip on pads for about 25 bucks so I bought one - it is one there now but I haven't fired the gun with the pad on it. This is a cool rig, but I want to experiment with a lever gun also and stuff cost money - so this is up on the block. I have 20 rounds of S&B ball I can throw in for this as well, cost me 20 bucks for the box. 200 for a FTF or 220 shipped to your FFL.
Please check my feedback and know that I am honorable.
