I bought it from Ohio Rapid Fire a couple years ago. It runs perfect. I have put around 400-500 rounds through it. It has a 16" barrel. Todd Groove at RF used an excellent condition 33 barrel and turned it to a light weight profile and choose to add a short length of 9mm HK barrel to get it to the 16" length. Maybe he used that to use similiar materials...I don't know. The entire gun (except the exposed barrel in front of the front sight) is in perfect condition...I can't find a mark on it. The cocking tube is perfectly centered. It has never has a scope mount on so it is unmarked. I had him use a genuine 53 handguard, it also has a plastic SEF clipped and pinned lower. I added a couple sling studs to the buttstock. Todd assured me that it had enough US made parts. It is parked with matte black gunkote finish over the parkerizing..this was an extra $150 they did it at ORF as an option. I have 5 25rd steel factory mags that I had ORF repark for me...they are black parked and look great. I paid $375 for the 5 mags.....that's above and beyond the $1500 for the gun.
The bad part is the exposed barrel.....the light weight with the slight flare at the last couple inches looks fine, but when I first got it, the gunkote did some peeling on the barrel (ONLY ON THE EXPOSED BARREL). I didn't care because I was going to add a fake can (the one in the pic.) Also to keep the fake can in place I made 2 divets for the set screws to lock into.
I paid over $1500 for this gun plus the mags. I couldn't decide if I wanted to SBR it, re-do the barrel with a shortened barrel and perm attached long FH or can......or just sell it and take a loss. I am going to try sell it first.
