Polytech SKS Hunter in 7.62x39. These are quite rare but what makes this one especially cool is the low serial number, 00025. Factory features include improved sights, improved stock and shorter barrel with no bayonet provisions, and a factory 5-round detachable box magazine. If you're an SKS or Polytech collector you probably don't need an explanation. I purchased this rifle a year ago from a sheriff's deputy who claimed to be the original owner. He also claimed a very low round count and indeed this rifle does not show much sign of use or wear. I have fired 5 rounds through her just to check function and it cycled flawlessly. Reason for selling is pretty much wanting to get the rare collector pieces and "safe queens" out of my collection. There is no box or accessories other than the rifle itself which is all original, complete and intact. Has the original quick-detach sling loops but unfortunately no sling. Other than that, the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.
Price is $600 plus shipping/insurance, or may trade for or toward a 7.62x39 AK variant of some sort (MAK-90 preferred). No sales where not legal. Know your local laws, please. Rifle is located near Kansas City, MO and if there is any local interest a FTF deal would be fine as well. Thanks!

I've never tried. The bolt carrier is notched for stripper clips, but the 5rd mag itself is detachable so I'm not sure how that would work. At any rate, this isn't the sort of SKS I would be swapping parts on due to the collector value.
