All it would take is a fine emery cloth to smooth it, 60 seconds and then it would look like new. You could use one of those touch up pens, Norrel it or send it to DPMS and have a professional finish done for $75 (annodize and teflon coated is what they recommend). It is not a gouge - more a couple of little "ping" marks. Unit was fired today since it has been awhile - shoots great, the lightweight barrel makes it easy to point. Now if only I could get rid of the finger pull to the right I might hit the 10 ring more often.
