I have an F A L that I built on a DPMS upper receiver using IMBEL parts from a Dan's grade 3 kit. It has an 18 inch barrel with 9/16 X 24 LH thread at the muzzle.
US parts include:
HBR flash hider (bird cage style)
Century Arms trigger
Penguin Buttstock, pistol grip, hand guards
DPMS upper receiver
Heddonpal magazine floor plates.
This rifle has an ambidextrious safety selector that is actuated by the shooters trigger finger rather than the thumb. The ambidextrious magazine release can be actuated either with the shooters' thumb or trigger finger. This is an excellent set up for 3 gun events or tactical carbine classes. The shooter can actuate the safety while keeping the weapon sholdered and without having to adjust their grip. Also the mag can be dropped with the trigger finger while the other hand is retreiving a fresh mag.
The rear sights have been modified with a locking system that eliminates all of the wobble and still functions as any standard metric rear sight. The locking system is spring loaded so as to prevent it from coming loose during firing. it is essentially a spring loaded set screw with a traditional sized adjustment knob on it.
The rifle has been finished with matte black teflon moly oven cured coating over manganese park. This rifle is a reliable shooter and produces decent groups with good ammo. Aussie and Port are the best performers. S A R1M1 is an Ok performer. The rifle comes with 2 20 rd mags and 3 additional US floor plates.
