This Colt AR is 38 years old and is a nice piece of history. This particular rifle has many features not found on modern AR rifles. You will note in the picture that the rifle features the old 3 prong flash hider, triangle handguards and M16 (NOT A1 trapdoor) buttstock. The furniture on this rifle is in great shape. The upper and lower receivers look a little brown as pictured. There is some finish wear in front of the front sight housing, most likely from someone's sweaty hands years ago and there is finish wear on some of the high spots like the flash hider, front sight and where the dust cover opens. There is a small scratch on the right side of the receiver. The left side of the upper receiver has some small white specks that seems to be through the finish. There are a several or so of these specks and pics are available of them. There was a carry handle scope mount on this rifle at one time, but the wear marks are minimal from it. There is some surface rust on the dust cover. This rifle has no sear block, of course, and uses mil spec fire control parts. The rifle comes with sling as pictured. The left side of the receiver is marked Colt AR-15 Cal .223 Model SP1 SER. SP015xx. This rifle as the dimpled safety, Edgewater buffer, heavy head firing pin and A1 dust cover. The buffer tube is held in with a roll pin and there is a Cross proof mark (?) on the right side of the lower. More pics avaiable. $1995.95.
