Hey guys, I am getting rid of this handgun for one reason. I dumped 850 on a TLE RL 2, and honestly, don't need 2 railed 1911's. I'm going to replace it with a standard mil-spec later on, or another firearm.
Heres the information.
The guns finish is 97% or up. Think of it as a gun that was owned by someone who is very very very careful with their equiptment, but it has a few marks from regular use. All minor surface marks. No stratches of any kind. The gun has 3000 rounds through it give or take a few, and has a ONCE PEICE BARREL. The gun is tighter than most mil-specs, and so far has had one FTF due to a limp wristed shot made by my fiance. I am not the greatest shot, but I shoot this gun as accurately as I can my Kimber TLE RL 2, beretta, or HK USP. Its accuracy suprised me when I got it, but that would mainly be due to the one peice barrel I suppose.
Externally, the gun is identical to how it left the factory, however I've done some VERY MINOR things to it. Had a gunsmith fit a wilson group gripper with full length guide rod. Comes with a pack of shok-buffs. I didn't notice much of an increase in accuracy after this, but it smoothed out the gun a little.
That is the only aftermarket peice in the gun. I have however changed out all the major springs. 18.5 LBS recoil spring, 18lbs mainspring, extra power firing pin spring. ILS components have been replaced with WILSON parts ordered from brownells. Wilson firing pin was also installed. Due to ILS removal and replacement of the recoil spring, the pull is right in the 4lbs range.
Since I hate the plastic grips that came with them, I put the Kimber rubberized grips on, that look identical, but feel MUCH better. I also replaced the crappy grip screws with hex- screws made by wilson.
If I remember, Springfield has since discontinued this model. Great base gun for those if you who want a rail, without all the fancy extras. Also great if you want a rail, and the loaded or TRP operators do not have the features you want in them
I am asking 500 dollars for the gun, due to the sentimental value, I'm pretty firm on the price. Would prefer to avoid paypal if possible. Buyer pays for shipping if necessary, and I'll need a copy of your FFL if going out of state.
