I got the not in stock bit, also. It was a Trijicon scope which I went ahead and ordered. Prices went up so I called and asked if they would honor the agreed upon price. I was told they would---I had come across another about the same price and wanted to make sure I didn't get squeezed.
Anyhow, almost a week later, after missing my other opportunity, they send me an email asking me to confirm my order! My order to which has been added $100!!!
Several mails back and forth and they reduce the increase to about $50. Still not bad considering the overall markup but I do expect people to honor their word. Granted this is a somewhat obsolete concept but it still means something to me. I also stared at the bottom of THEIR invoice which says: all sales final Apparently that only applies to the buyer. It also seemed apparent that they were actually wanting me to cancel my order as they figured they could get more money elsewhere. I did end up canceling my order.
I am done with SableCo. YMMV.
I do not feel this is a correct representation of what happened, there are a few inconsistancies.
1. If you had placed an order, received an invoice with a price, I honor it, period.
Do I have an invoice with the initial price?
You bet your ass I do.
2. YOU CANCELLED the order, befor cancelling I was willing to give it to you AT A LOSS with last years pricing, the margins were thin then and are thin now.
No, Robert. That is not true and you know it. I have every email as well...
3. When your "other oppertunity" fell through, I put you EXACTLY back in your position in the waiting list and discounted the scope over $70.00 off of '03 pricing. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AT A LOSS AFTER CREDIT CARD FEES AND SHIPPING!!!!!!!
Absolutely untrue as well. I never told you my other deal fell thru and that was due to the fact that I called you and asked if you were going to honor the quoted price. I was told that you would. As a result of that conversation I let the other deal go.
I was never off the "waiting list" as far as I knew until I finally cancelled my order.
4. We honor our word but expect honor on the same level, I had NEVER taken a deposit from you on this scope.
I purchased via CC.
So the fact that you hadn't yet received actual funds from me makes the deal less binding? I am not an attorney, maybe you know something I don't.
How have I acted dishonorably? Give me a break.
I regret you feel you were cheated, I have never wished a customer would cancel and buy from someone else.
I don't feel cheated. I am simply disappointed in my experiences with SableCo. There is no need for you to become angry over it. Our deal was what it was. I have simply reported it in an objective manner. A very objective manner. I could've started my own post here, or on the AR discussion or general discussion forums. Other sites I go to also. 2 deals, twice disatisfied. What do you want from me?
I'm not going to tell everyone I had great experiences when I did not.
I understand why you did what you did. So do you. Now take your lumps.
