A few years back I sent a Feb 1943 Garand receiver and a Unissued SA barrel and assorted parts to Shuffs Pakerizing.
He reparked the receiver , trigger guard , sights and a few other
parts in Zinc which is a lighter color parkerizing. I went with this
color to make the lead dipped heel stand out.
Not every part was reparked, only pieces that needed it
He lapped the bolt, installed/finish reamed the barrel. I reworked a
Dupage/Boyds stock for fit and accuracy. Also hand rubbed many coats of
BLO both inside and out
Op Rod has had tab rebuilt by Columbus Machine and the rest of the
rod was checked and is all in spec. There is a small spot that is shown
in pic that has missing finish where the tab was welded and ground.
The receiver has a few small spots of piting as shown in the
pictures. The biggest area is under the receiver heel that doesnt show
when installed.
The barrel is a SA 4-54 that was purchased from CMP and was NOS, unissued
MW looks like it is just over Zero line maybe .25 TW -is a strong 1 on Stone Axe gage
Gas cylinder has been refinished and gages well in spec . NOS Gas Lock installed
This rifle has had less than 500 rds fired through it and am only selling to fund other projects.
Rifle is a mixture of parts as I was building a shooter not a collector
This rifle is much like a CMP special which has commercial barrel,
stock/handguards, buttplate ,stock metal and sells for $995 This rifle
is all USGI parts except for the commercial wood/handguards. All metal
parts are USGI and stock hase been carefully shaped and fitted
If you have any questions on rifle or specific parts please PM me
$1000 plus actual shipping/insurance
Stock has a few small marks from othe rifles rubbing up against it in the safe
Alittle pitting, the most is under the heel where it doesnt show
