Let me tell you young wipper snappers who were too young to even be trusted with a B.B gun back in 1994, what is going on here now 10 years later. (....Even if you are 23 now, but you still can't be trusted with a B.B gun) As Julius Irving said :Those who will not learn from history are destined to repeat it. (Or was it Julius Caeser?).......
Before the ban took effect in 1994, everybody and his Army booted sister ran out to buy a preban Government Colt A2 in anticipation of it. (There were no flat top 6721 pre ban A3's back then except for 124 in the entire county) Colt A2's were about $775 list, but selling at Houston gun shows for up to $1,800
THIS WENT ON FOR MONTHS until the price finally started dropping. I sold a NIB 6520 during the price dropping stage for $1,400. Another 3 months later, I had one more NIB 6520 to sell, but could barely get $1,000 for it!! -At one show, I remember it sat on a table all day with no buyers.
Trust me, whether Kerry get's in or Bush gets in, the market will eventually flood with over supply. How many expensive black rifles rifles can everyone buy before they've had their fill? I've bought 3 already in 3 months. My wallet's getting tired!!!!! How's yours? But the dealers will have a dozen sitting on their tables at that point, while Colt will still have an endless supply to offer. Right?
With Kerry winning on Nov.2 the panic will continue and last longer, but the over saturation will still eventually happen. This was the case in 1994 with a ban in effect....not a legalization in effect as we have now!!!
That will give you the opportunity to buy your 6920 rifle at $1,100 - $1,200 once more I bet. I believe one way or another a worse ban will return. So with Bush or Kerry these rifles are bound to go back up to $3,000-$5,000 again!
So sure, buy your $1,500 rifle now to be safe that you have one, and not worry. You'll be able to get more than your money back later. But if you can't afford one now for $1,800 don't fret. You'll get one more chance later. Young wipper snappers, I'm telling you, I 've been there already!
