F/S: 6” S&W 686-4 (7-shot) – NO Lock – .357 mag / .38 (in WI)
I am offering up my excellent-condition 6” Smith & Wesson 686-4 Plus (7-shot) - NO-lock - serial number range CANxxxx. Of course this is a .357 Magnum/38 spec. S&W revolver. To me, this is the most desirable model of the S&W 686 as the “-4” variety has all the improvements (D&T, RB, no MIM parts (case hardened hammer & trigger), roll-marked (not laser-etched), etc.), it was the last model to have the hammer-mounted firing pin, the first offering of the optional 7-shot cylinder, and NO internal lock.
I bought this from its original owner in 2005. He claimed to have shot “less than two boxes of shells through it” before I bought it (and he gave me about 90 pieces of fired brass he claims were all it has seen). I believed him then, and still do. Since that time, it has seen a diet of 158gr. lead SWC, 180gr. lead WFN, and a few 180gr. XTP loads. I conservatively estimate I have fired no more than 600 rounds through it since buying it. Lock-up, timing, and trigger action are all excellent. I am selling only to “thin the herd” (I own a couple 586/686 revolvers).
It will come with original box & paperwork – pics available to serious buyers on request (I'll probably post some later once I get them hosted). If there is a specific part of this firearm you’d like me to attempt to photograph in more detail, please let me know and I’ll try to do so.
I’m asking $600 shipped/insured ***SOLD PENDING FUNDS***
to your lower-48 dealer (or $575 FTF near Sheboygan, WI). I accept USPS money orders. Also, while I am a 03 FFL (C&R) holder, I do not have a 01 FFL. Please don’t make me an offer if your local FFL will not accept a shipment from me. I will not ship to CA.
Please post an “I’ll take it” here and then email me (email@example.com) to confirm your intent to purchase (I have this listed on a couple other forums, so I want to be certain about who claims this first).
