ETA 9-27-18 : I have a limited supply of Multicam Tropic in 50/50 coming - contact me for availability. I am also taking pre-orders on Multicam Black. I placed an order that will be in around December. It'll go fast, quilts will be black-on-black.
ETA: 10-9-18 : All Multicam Original quilts that have not been received as of today 10-9-18
will be getting the Polartec Thermal Pro FR as the backing. This is a fire retardant 87% Nomex/ 13% Poly fleece that is absolutely amazing
so I am transitioning all Original Pattern quilts in queue over to it.
ETA: 10-10-18 : All 50/50 quilts will have slightly different binding around the edges due to the thickness of the material. Typical binding would result in 5X layers of 50/50 NYCO + the thick layer of Polartec. The plan is to use a printed, like-pattern binding tape - it will be VERY nice based off of the samples I have received. Pics to follow after one is done. Original/ Extreme quilts will have the option of regular binding like the photos below or the tape - your call.
Due to the overwhelming response when I shared some pictures of the amazing Multicam rip-stop quilt my wife made, she's agreed to do a limited run for you folks here. She's sewn and made quilts for a very long time and is an absolute master at the craft.Click here for the thread in General Discussion
to see what people are saying about them and also take a look at TONS of pics.
100% US made... this means that every single component is made here in the US, no cheap knock-off materials. The Multicam and Polartec is purchased directly from their named textile manufactures, these aren't Chinese imitations from Etsy.
There are two different rip-stops, the one you are probably used to is the 50/50, meaning 50 nylon 50 cotton (a.k.a NYCO). That's what a set of Army BDUs are made from for example. What she is using is a brand new material Multicam came out with called "NYCO Extreme". It's a little pricier but it's 10X softer. It is 57/43 NYCO, that doesn't sound like much of a difference but it's very nice.
The Polartec is 200 grade and is thick and plush, it doesn't take long to get warm under one of these.
I had sent pictures of the quilts to Crye Precision and they were very impressed by them, they even said they wanted to send me a bunch of hang tags and sew-on labels. So each quilt will have an official Multicam label as well.
What is being offered here is a 100% handmade, US sourced item that should last a lifetime just like things like that should. The price doesn't really cover the amount of hours that goes into this with all that is involved and the materials alone are extremely expensive but she wanted to come up with a price that people can afford and do a limited run to see how it goes.
