Got your attention?
As near as I can figure, most of us here dislike PP for their anti-policies. Some of us use it (I do
), and some shun it like the plague.
Apart from your opinion on PP, you have to admit that it is GREAT in one sense: it represents an innovative business strategy. Why? Because PP has managed to insert itself, in a profit generating fashion, into transactions that would otherwise generate no profit for anyone. The credit card companies started this first, but PP has managed to carve out a lucrative spot for itself taking our money in exchange for offering convenient, fast and relatively safe transmission of money between two private parties.
But the technology to effect these transactions isn't, I think, all that exotic. I recently opened a new bank account at a new bank, while keeping my old checking and savings account. My new bank let me transfer funds between the new and old accounts simply by providing account and routing numbers--and they didn't charge me a nickel for the privilege.
So, getting to my point, why do no other options exist for people invested in the shooting sports? When will someone step forward and create a PP-like service for the shooter?
) This kind of service could generate a tidy sum even if it were based on a transaction fee alone and not a percentage of the sale.
So, here's my call.....we need ARF-BUX
(or call it what you want
)!!! If I had the seed money, which I don't, I'd seriously consider starting such a service myself. But there are others out there that already have a web-based computer infrastructure in place who would find it far easier to get such a thing off the ground. (hint, hint)
