I liked this scope so much, I purchased one as soon as I was done testing it. This scope addresses so many of the wants/needs that I hear about on Predator Masters and other forums/groups.
1) Many hunters have been asking for an affordable quality thermal without all the bells and whistles. 2) I hear the comment all the time, I am looking for a thermal scope that can also be used a scanner. The Hogster-R addresses both of these areas, and more. Here is a quick Video I did of the Hogster-R. Some Strengths: 1) Very Compact 2) Good FOV 3) Good image even in high humidity 4) Affordable (compared to other options) 5) Built and Serviced in the US 6) Ease of operation 7) PIP 8) Multiple Zero profiles 9) Solid build quality 10) Good Base |

I just received a Hogster 35mm and only had a chance to play with it for about 20 mins. So far, this this is everything that @KoreyKirsch and @NGI_TOM said it was. I was scanning around my neighborhood and was surprised at the clarity. Especially when it was a couple hours past sundown on a hot, humid, night. Cars still glowed hot. It was easy to spot rabbits, cats, raccoons, and possums, as they prowled around the neighborhood. The farthest I was scanning was probably about 400yrds out to the main road and could tell what was a car, suv, or truck without issue. If you're looking for an affordable thermal, give Night Goggles a call and talk to Tom about your questions.
One thing I would like to see in the instruction sheet are tips on how to zero. I read some where that putting a piece of tin foil over the center of the target will make it glow for zeroing. Is there truth in that? |

Here was a video I put together awhile back on sighting in your thermal. I was even using the Hogster-R 35 in the video. Each movement whether horizontal or vertical in the zeroing window moves the Point of Impact .9" on the 35. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message, and I am happy to assist. ![]() View Quote This would be 10X better if you used a cheap sheet of HDPE instead of cardboard. With HDPE (think white plastic cutting board material), you can see your impacts using the TWS. It's a game changer. |

Any feedback from anyone using on an AK? Everything I see is these being used on an AR. My fear is that the scope would be too high and I'd get a chin/neck weld...

Haven't heard of anyone running it on an AK. We have a 14 day return policy though so you could get one and mount it up. If it doesn't work, send it back for a full refund.
