Ask yourself this, would you want Tommy Haskins to be able to sell here in the future? Lets say that Tommy FINALLY settles up with everyone, would you feel comfortable with him selling here again after a year?He could use this removal to argue his point to site staff.
Tommy has really destroyed any hope of returning by his repeated abuse of the site. John has only had one problem which he did correct.
I guess I am starting to get a little soft. God knows I have been a bad boy in the past. Only thing I can say is have a little compassion, no one here is without sin.
It really is up to Helmut if John returns, he is the one who was wronged. Of course if John does return he will have a red minus next to his name in the Feedback forum with a link to this and the archive threads. He will not get off scott free.
Compassion is the prodigy of repentence, and repentence is the prodigy of admitted truths.
Anyone can say, "sorry." My kids do it all the time, but they stay grounded until I see a REAL behavior change.
If he honestly is sorry for what he did and has had a true change of character, he'll have no problem admitting he is changed. If he does not admit it, in his own words, and to the vast public here, he'll just have another chance to screw another member. He won't be honestly changed, he'll just be sorry. I've had hangovers where I was sorry, but I still drink.
If he wants to be off the HOS list, it is HIS job to ask for it and show us why.
As the mod here, you moderate. But you let him decide how he wants to make ammends to screwing a member over. He does that in the public eye with no bullshit, and Helmut agrees, free him. But f you take him off wihout BOTH of those factors, you do the site a disservice.
Nothing against you, as I have DEFINATELY made my fair share of mistakes! The difference is that I did the right thing, not just waited for an amount of time to pass where people became apathetic. Make him do the work - you just remove the name.
But until HE does the work, and not you, I'll have no respect for him and will warn anyone I can.
So if you are listening, John, time to stand up and be a man. You want to earn the right to respect you once violated, you EARN it. And so far, I haven't seen a single act of repentence from you. If you are really a diferent person, being honest about who you once were won't be a problem.
That's my take, Boom. I have a feeling many people here feel the same way.
