Variable, I see your point. Really I do. And if this were ebay I'd have a different perspective.
But I've traded seriously expensive stuff with guys I don't really even know in the brief time I've been on this board, and unhesitatingly shipped merchandise without even receiving a check or money order from whoever I sent stuff to. And NEVER have I ever been burned.
Conversely, I've bought stuff of varying values from guys I don't even know, and blindly launched money orders, which we all know are essentially cash. And again, NEVER have I been burned.
My point is, that because there seem to be so many cops, ex-cops, military, ex-military, and just plain old "good old boys" on the board, that I automatically trust everyone here, unless and until proven otherwise. And I doubt any of the regulars here would ever pull anything dishonest, lest they be revealed and banished from the community. I sure as hell wouldn't!
So to me, an agreement (this is a credit to all of you guys) is as good as a handshake between the oldest of friends, and I'll always conduct myself that way, as I expect all of you will. That, and I'm retired now. I'm working for me (see the conclusion of Bourn Identity). I've got nothing but time, money, and a serious memory.
But speaking for me, if I say it, I do it (or died trying). You can (as others have) stake your life on me coming through. I do not fail my friends. I expect that to be pretty much the standard norm here.
I'd have sent you the light if you asked for it. If there's ever a next time, just ask.
