Hi, I have a Valmet side folder for sale in used condition. Original finish, few handling scratches on each side.
One original mag that has always been with this rifle. Great trigger. Top cover is solid. I always liked the Valmet sights. They are original, but do not glow in dark any more.
I think it's a great factory folding stock design, and is solid in folded and fixed positions. The rifle is in good working condition... I never shot it that much in the last decade, but I was always happy with groups with 55 gr .223, as compared to a combloc 7.62 AK
I would like to get $1485 for this rifle, with the original mag.
I would pay my local FFL to put the rifle in his books & will pay for insured shipping to your FFL. I would like a postal MO for payment.
If IL buyer, I'd prefer still shipping from my FFL to your FFL, but would be willing to work with buyer for any legal sale.
I would also include two .223 AK mags that are supposed to be the correct type to modify for Valmet usage...
(I will take & upload pics now to my team account or photobucket & figure out how to edit post with pics this evening)
(I'm going to get pics up, but would be willing to take clear detail pics of any part of rifle, including what I mean by scratches & send by email, etc)
I'm probably not interested in trades... selling my city home, buying a farm, and baby is on the way.
ETA, to paste answers to questions that I was asked, and also to say I disassembled & added 25 pics to my photobucket account http://s1218.photobucket.com/user/BigIron-TheRocket/library/?sort=3&page=1
No problems with rifle. Sheet metal latch that is attached to front of
receiver (has the hook to hold stock folded) is a bit loose... it's held to
receiver with a nut on the outside and screw on inside of handguard... looks
factory peened in the exact nut to screw position it's in... and always been
this way. There is a slight wiggle when stock is fully extended. I'd
expect any folding stock to have some wiggle...
No rust on the rifle.
Seems to be quality steel, like a Swede Mauser
Bolt and bolt face look
great. Bolt seems to be like a nickel or stainless steel... Where I do see
(just a bit of) wear is on end of piston... also couple spots on area where
bolt and hammer contact... fully functional...
Scratches are to shiny
metal. 2 & 10'clock on barrel... area on receiver where moving bolt
carrier would wear... area on receiver where top cover would rub... selector
I put pictures of each on photobucket.
I would consider this rifle to be something I would bring to range once or twice every couple years... if I was bringing six or more guns & putting couple mags of brass-cased 55 gr ball... letting it cool while I shot other rifles... and would prob rotate few times through the guns.
It's not a perfect museum piece, but would be considered a shooter with used original finish. I had intention of finding or converting a bunch of mags... but always had plenty of 7.62 AKs & 5.56 ARs & battle rifles & bolt guns & fighting shotguns.... I'd probably hit it with a bit of high-temp flat black... but I never did. It looks great when oiled.
