I placed an order with Denny's Guns and got a Larue SPR 1.5 mount for a new IOR 1-4 sight. All set to ring everything up and go boresight and zero and... the scope wouldn't mount.
I was a little frustrated and started to see what the problem was. A tiny machining flaw mounted one of the thread-sleeves on a scope ring... mounted the screw at an angle, damn. Crooked threads = crooked screw = no mounting. I write up a little desription and ask for parts prices (if I wasn't able to fix it myself). But, like a dumbass... I forgot to include my address.
I got a response the next day, basically saying (almost literally) "Hey, we f-cked up... sorry, give me your address and we'll send you a new part. We won't make you pay for our f-ck up" Very cool.
I went bak to see if I could fix the thing myself... and after a little three-dimensional thinking I was. All I had to really do was file a little bit of metal. Righteous! Nobody has to send parts and I don't have to wait to go shooting, it all works out.
I send a message back to Mr. LaRue and let him know, I kinda hint that I could use a bumper sticker or something. I ust wanted something cool to put on my guncase or back window, ya know?
I got a hat and very original armadillo bottle opener that's marked "survival tool" I started off looking to give feedback and get some parts. I ended up scoring my [new] favorite hat and a healthy respect for good customer service.
This guy went out of his way to make sure that one of the little things was taken care of, he obviously gives a damn about what carried his name. Hard to find with other companies.
That scope mount is rock solid and really does re-mount to your zero by the way.
You're shorting yourself if you don't check this guy's gear out.
