Mod 1 upper that I sent to ADCO firearms to have them chop and dimple. I've had them do this to two Mod 1 uppers, and they are one of the nicest setups you could ask for. It specs at 14.5 inches with concentric threads for mounting a suppressor and is dimpled under the handguard. I opted for this route as opposed to the factory KAC 14.5 since they use a heavy barrel, and even dimpled it is heavier than a 16" standard mod 1, and I wanted a rifle as light as possible. As such, it does not get any lighter than this. This was originally to be used as a duty rifle, thus it was never pinned and welded, and at home sat on a pistol lower. Our department is going to factory built guns and providing them, so I no longer need this setup, or have any desire to pin/weld a second one so that I can use it on a lower the way I had hoped for. Rifle runs flawlessly as it is spec'd the same as the factory 14.5. Runs even lower powered .223, and is as smooth, if not smoother than my 16" mod 1's. This was tested on a dept lower with exactly 180 rounds down the pipe and is in flawless condition. It was zeroed with MK262 at 50 yards and held 10 rounds in just under a 1/2 inch group, making it the tightest chrome barrel I have, even a little tighter than my 16" mod-1's.
Factory 14.5's and MOD1's are no longer available. Here is your chance to get one that is a blend of the best features of both, into one of the handiest uppers I've ever tried.
