I purchased this rifle about 1 year ago when I though I was moving to California and thus, I though “no AR-10 for me…” Now, I have found that I am staying put in Iowa, for the foreseeable future. Thus, you can take advantage of my AR-10 lust and pick up this unfired hard-to-find Remington R5 “milspec” rifle.
A quick search of the forums will yield info on this unique rifle. One such place can be found by clicking here
. <-- This link explains the “R5 Milspec” thing. Basically, this is the one with the unfluted, heavy “M24-type” 24 inch R5 rifled barrel, made with 416R stainless steel. It also has a nice H-S Precision stock. Printed on the factory box is:
Remington Model 700 Stainless
24” Barrel .308 WIN
700 Stainless Special 5-R Milspec Barrel
Serial Number: S6442###
Order Number: 29663
As I stated, I bought this rifle new. I have not fired it, but I have carefully cleaned it (I do this will all rifles immediately after purchase). I have also installed the following:GRE-TAN Firing Pin Assembly
(replaced Stock assembly – which will also be included). Click here
for info. Tactical Stocks, Inc. REM 700 Short Action 1-piece Scope base
(SA700Base). This is an all-steel Dual-dovetail scope ring base. www.tacticalstocks.com/Accessories.htm

Here's a pic of the mount/rings:http://www.tacticalstocks.com/images/Accessories/Unertl_1.JPG
*Note, that the ones being sold with this rifle are matte black...not "naked" like the ones in the photo. :)Burris Signature Dual-Dovetail rings
(all steel, “optilock” rings). Click here
for info. *Note, these rings were installed at my local shop, and the smith put a scratch in the base on he rear ring…only a cosmetic issue, but I wanted to note it).
Again, this rifle is dead-mint. Also, I have the original factory box, paperwork, trigger lock, etc…
Price = $950 shipped (firm) ;P You will NOT find a better deal that this...
