Pardom my ignorance (and PLEASE correct me if I'm offering something illegal!) I'm led to believe that residents of some states are still undur state restrictions that only allow pre 94 prebans.
I'm considering selling my Colt Sporter Lightweight (era just before the ban when Colt had massive raised & pinned sear blocks, no bayo lugs, but did have flash suppressor on its "pencil barrel"). I"m not an expert in grading guns, but I feel confident it is easily a 90-95+% gun, although i have no original box, i do believe i have the factory manual. This has always been a bit of a safe queen as i have others that i consider "shooters".
Has standard stock, toatally as factory (with addition of basic sling); this is NOT a parts gun. The finins matches well and easily passes headspace test (yes I do have a full set of headspace guages).
Provided there is such a potential sale to benefit an out-of-stater, i'd research blue book and current online market prices and how to go through the legal transfer.
I also have a Colt SP1 lower which has seen far more wear as my 3 gun match gun that may also be on the marke under the same termst. I still plan to keep my pre & postban Bushmaster lowers (both with Colt uppers) I plan to keep.
I can email photos of the firearms provided the sale is legal and you are a truly interested buyer.
I know its considered a no-no to post for sale ads without a price, but I'm more concerned about the legalities before settling on prices.
Moderator: If my post is in violation (and i did investigate a few "sticky" postings first), politely post my error , lock it up, and point me in the right direction. I enjoy my infrequent use of this site, but do not wish to step on any toes.
Thank you in advance-
PS: EDITED to reflect error in "Sporter 2" vs. "lightweight". My gun is a "sporter lightweight"
PS: edited for prices: SPI lower with stock internals, no buttstock $400 shipped. Colt Sporter lightweight , complete rifle with manual, no box $1200 shipped.
