this item was in a pile of gun parts that i recently acquired. it is a 22lr conversion kit for the AR15 rifle. i did some checking on the internet, and it is circa about mid-1970s. it has been out of production for decades.
the conversion bolt was designed by jonathan ciener (he makes conversion kits in his own name now) and built by military armament corp (the company that used to make the MAC10 sub-machine gun). the assembly is complete with no missing or broken parts (i took it apart to check), and it is built heavy duty. the bolt slides back and forth glassy smooth. i don't have a magazine for it, but the unit is compatible with the current production 10 and 30 round magazines made by ciener. these magazines are very easy to find, and the 10 rounders are now pretty cheap to buy.
i tried out the unit with a barrowed magazine and AR, and it ate up the rimfire rounds. no problems with feeding, firing or extraction using hi-velocity copper coated hollowpoint i bought at walmart ($10 for 550 rounds). it was surprisingly accurate too. this unit is designed to be used with the SP1 type hammer. there is wear to the finish but there is no rust, pitting or breakage. the unit self enclosed, and is easy to disassemble with no need for tools.
price is $55 plus shipping. i will ship UPS ground or USPS priority mail, your choice. sold as-is, no returns. payment by money order, or paypal + 3%. pickup in person is OK. i am in los angeles.
