For sale in DFW, TX:
A used Springfield TRP Operator 1911 with full length rail dustcover. I purchased this gun used over a year ago off of a dealer on Gunbroker. The previous owner seems to have been into competition, and the finish wear on the Armory Kote shows from it. With the original bull barrel/full length guide rod set up, the gun still cycles very smoothly and is still very accurate. This particular pistol seems to be of older Springfield vintage, evidenced by the contour of the front strap as well as the older style Videki trigger with the large center hole and two smaller outer holes.
I have since (lightly) modified it with the following parts:
Storm Lake GI style threaded barrel with fitted EGW Carry beveled thick flange barrel bushing and matching EGW guide rod plug (not the beveled version). Also comes with thread protector.
Ed Brown Heavy Duty GI style guide rod
Ed Brown newer style Videki trigger with three equal sized holes
S&A 20 LPI checkered mainspring housing with lanyard loop and with new Wilson Combat replacement internals, including a reduced power #19 hammer spring.
S&A full checkered cocobolo magwell cut grips
Other parts included are as follows:
Two original seven round magazines (Shooting Star style followers)
Original factory bull barrel and full length guide rod. Recoil spring was reused with GI style setup
Original factory trigger
Checkered stainless finished GI style guide rod plug
Original internals for the Springfield ILS mainspring housing (hammer spring and cap). Original Mainspring housing NOT included
New complete blued set of pins from Wilson Combat (I originally bought them locally in order to get replacement internals for the MSH, but never installed the other pins)
Does not come with original case, but does come in a Plano Gun Guard lockable two pistol case.
Original sandpaper sprayed grips.
***DOES NOT COME WITH X300***
The threaded barrel was fitted by a local gunsmith, and for some reason when hand cycling the gun, the slide is difficult to rack with the hammer down. It seems to get hung up slightly when the breech face meets the disconnector. I suspect that it may have something to do with the fitment of the locking lugs. The gun has functioned fine with the threaded barrel installed and is just as accurate with it as the original barrel; I've had probably about 500-600 rounds with the new barrel. The original adjustable sights are getting slightly dim but still useable at night. There is also slight wear on the high edges of the rear sight. Also, as mentioned earlier, the finish definitely shows use. The finish on the edges of the railed frame and slide are worn toward the muzzle end, and does show some slight wear on the top of the slide as well. On the faces of the slide, there are areas where the finish is slightly rough, but not worn off to metal. I tried best to represent these in the pictures taken with flash.
I would very much like to keep the gun, but bigger projects are calling and I am using this to fund them. I am asking $1300 OBO
