All you have to do is retain a dealer in North Carolina who will do a "transfer" for you. They usually charge between $20-40 dollars for the exchange. Your dealer will ship a copy of his FFL to the seller and the gun will be shipped to you, via your dealer, (c/o).
Be careful about a dealer (doing the transfer for you), wanting another dealer to ship the weapon. This is not necessary and only adds, possibly, to your cost. If it's a dealer you're buying from, there should be no problem.
