WTS: Colt XM16E1 upper. Specifics: early port door, no forge markings, beveled front pivot hole, early gas tube, 1/12 twist NON-chrome barrel (triangle mark and "12" beneath), cast front sight base, flat delta. (info on these early rifles at http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=241681 )
Complete except for: gas tube roll pin, forward assist assembly (removed). I can throw in an A2 assembly (no pin) if you'd like. A couple of nicks and scratches on the receiver near the rear sight, and a little 'buggering' on the rear sight screw head. Handguards have a scratch or two. Bore is excellent and shiny.
No bolt/carrier/ch; as noted, lacks gas tube pin and forward assist.
It has been refinished with some sort of black paint. No idea what this is, but it is a very good color match for my Eagle/Armalite A2 lower (pic for example).
All flaws and details are obsessively documented in a series of 33 photos here:
$255 shipped to lower 48. (edit - pic cropped).
