I may be the only person with a less than satisfactory exprience with Ameetec Arms, but I'm fairly disappointed and wanted to relay my experience with them. While I understand that they are busy with people ordering stuff after the AWB expired, I would have still expected more.
I ordered a Mega lower and lower parts kit from them on Tuesday, September 14th and was told that the order would probably ship Friday.
I called Friday, September 17th, and was told that the order would probably ship later that day.
On Monday, September 20th, having not received an e-mail with shipping confirmation, I called again and was told that the order would ship Wednesday, September 22nd.
That Monday night, I made a deal with a fellow Arfcom member to buy his lower locally, provided that I could cancel the order with Ameetec. When I got a hold of Ameetec on Tueday, I was told that no, the order did not ship out yet, but it was packaged up and ready for pickup by FedEx THAT TUESDAY and that I would incur a restocking fee if I wanted to cancel the order. Since I was told the order would ship out that same day, I figured that my FFL would still receive the package by Friday and decided to let them ship it.
On Wednesday, September 22nd I received the shipping confirmation from FedEx. THe order had NOT shipped on Tuesday, 9/21 as I was told, but on Wednesday, 9/22. My FFL will not receive it until Monday, 9/27.
In response, I sent the following e-mail to Ameetec:
I received the tracking information for the shipment.
If you recall, I had tried to cancel this shipment on Tuesday,
September 21st, but was informed by you that the package was
ready to go out that same day, and that I would incur a
restocking fee for your trouble if I were to cancel the order.
I decided to not cancel, believing that it would indeed ship
that day, which would mean that my FFL would receive the package
by Friday based on FedEx ground transit time maps.
The FedEx tracking information you provided,
clearly shows that the package did not go out until the
end of the day Wednesday, and now the package will not arrive
until Monday. I am very disappointed with the service you
have provided, especially since I really needed that package
delivered by the weekend.
I very much like the prices for your products and have checked
out comments about Ameetec on Ar15.com before ordering. If this
is a typical of the service you provide, then I will not
order from you again, and make sure others are aware of your
In response, I received the following e-mail from Ameetec:
That's fine. I told you that FEDEX was picking it up that day. DOnt know if he comes in around noon or afternoon. That is out of my control. It was packaged up and ready to ship already when you called, so yes, there is a restocking fee as we spent the time packaging and logging out your purchase. As for your opinion on our services, that's fine. I really don't give a shit at this point. You are the first customer to feel this way, and we really don't need anal customers at this time, especially when I didn't charge you for RUSH. If you needed it by Friday, that's your problem. You never mentioned that to me.

What's done is done, and I'm not terminally injured. I'm sure the lower will be fine, but I don't appreciate being treated like that as a customer. I know it is only one lower, and there are people ordering many more than me, but I still don't expect to be treated like that. It is not a matter of being "anal" when I ordered a product on Tuesday, 9/14 and it doesn't ship until over a week later. Even that I could understand, but not being told on Tuedsday that it would ship that day, and when I complain, being told that they couldn't care less and accuse me of being anal.
