Have been giving great thought to the whole EE question all weekend.
First I want to clear up something. Originally I started this post because of two deals I had recently made to individuals who: 1- refused to give a verifiable (ie: home or business) address and telephone number.
2- individual who refused to ship his product out till after I had shipped my product, even though it was MY add he had responded to.
Well having considered things I have come to the conclusion that: 1- If you cannot come to an agreement about shipping and exchange terms, like many people have said, this is enough warning to back out of a deal. In these situations a judgement call is all that is needed. Time and again members have jumped in to track down unscrupulous individuals and hopefully site moderators ban these individuals IP addresses from the site afterwards. The feedback exchange forum is enough to protect members when used correctly.
2- We already have a form of identifying serious site members. These members help the Avilla's maintain the site by purchasing an AR15.com mebership every year. A membership costs money and provides an identifier to the Avilla's during payment. Not everyone who considers AR15.com a "family" has purchased a membership yet, but many have. It would be really easy to restrict the EE to "Team Memebers ONLY". (JUST AN IDEA)
3-When purchasing thru dealers we all have protection via state and federal laws, the better business bureau and CC companies. Keep receipts, e-mails and anything else exchanged during a transaction, read the boards for positive feedback and shop away. Patronize site sponsors and 98% of the time you will be happy.
So basically anyone who will not exchange "even" info with you should bring up a warning flag. And if we use the feedback exchange forum properly and stick together without silly squables we are covered as well as posssible as far as exchanging money over the internet goes. Our "family" stretches across the ENTIRE USA and parts across the seas, we have a good thing going here, sorry to worry anyone unecessarily, everyones feedback was apreciated!
P.S. Have YOU become a team member yet? Come on and join the "Family"!!!
