Wife said time for me to grow up and the car has to go, it's been in the garage since we got married and she's had enough of my follies, and my promises of getting around to finishing it. Here's the deal.
1970 Cutlass 2DR street rod build, approximately 2000 miles on the build.
It was painted in a red metallic and a polyester filler was used, stuff called Sandee. It caused the paint to goose bump blister a year afterwards and it had to be stripped again. Current condition is stripped for painting, cover coat of primer, all trim removed, needs block sanded, minor body work completed, dent & dings filled. reprimed & painted. It's been stored indoors for a numnber of years. It ran when parked, it will need fuel system cleaned and I'll try to do that when I get a break. Trunk lid was replaced by me with new GM part in the late 80's.
Ford 9" rear with new limited slip carrier and 4.10 gears all new components incl. bearings etc. I think it has 28 spline axles.
Competiton Engineering ladder bar suspension & cross member. Has air shocks, needs coil overs if present tire/wheel combo is maintained. Has L50-15 soft compound Mickey Thompson tires on Crager Super Street Trick wheels (Centerline look alikes) Has Kelly 14" tires on the front. Rear tires just fit without tubs. Tires show some age from setting.
Totally rebuilt 350 original transmission, has all B&M components, clutch packs, seals, bearings, valve body parts. TCI 11" torque converter with 3000 rpm stall. New tranny mount. Driveshaft safety ring hasn't been installed but included. Has Hurst Lighning Rod shifter and has correct slick collar installed on steering column for floor shifter. 6 point Pyrotech race harness.
I have a second original inline Olds floorshifter & console for bucket seat configuration. Car has std. bench seat. Black interior. Both bumpers were rechromed and are still in the paper wrapper. The Rear bumper is the rarer dual cutout 442 bumper. Exhaust is dual with oem rear tail pipes. Can't recall the muffler mfr.. Aftermarket Tach is fitted into the original clock hole on the dash.
Original 350 Olds Engine is rebuilt to approx W31 specs. TRW forged 10.6:1 Compression pistons, Competition Cams 292 Cam, roller chain, Clevite 77 bearings thru entire engine. Adjustable pushrod valve train, Competiton Cams lifters, Hooker aluminized headers, second set of painted headers, Offenhauser dual port manafold with Carter Thermoquad Carburator, heads are port matched, polished, has oversize W31 polished valves, heads machined for Teflon seals on valve guides, rocker arms springs etc. were all replaced. OEM rockers, Crane springs if I recall. Moroso Nitros Oxide system with a nearly full bottle, 3 core Modine radiator with dual electric fans, halogen headlights, HE coil, stock ditributor, braided plug wires, brass freeze plugs, lots of minor details & parts that I can't recall at the moment. Valve covers & such are painted the original Olds/Cadillac gold, no chrome dressup stuff, car was intended to be a sleeper street rod and money was spent on the internals. A/C compressor is still intact. If I recall, the ball joints and A arm bushings were replaced, I have new front brake drums in a box & I think new wheel cylinders in a box.
Last I added it up I had $15,000 invested in parts & machinework from 10+ years ago., have additonal spare components from second parts car, 442 emblems, trim parts, OAI air cleaner parts, never got around to buying an OAI hood to complete the look, has stock hood. I'm missing plenty of other details. I have a folder with all the receipts, the decals of the various mfrs., a number of totes of extra parts & such. Clear FL title.
In addition, I will include all the related tools I own for engine building, body work etc. Stuff like a Mac cam bearing installer, Snap-On timing light, trim tools, basically everything specialized I bought when I was working on the car. Asking $7500 OBO, located in N. Florida. Cash sale. If anyone is a member over on realoldspower.com, I'd appreciate it you'd link this post over there, feel free to do a cut & paste I've tried to get registered there and can't seem to get a reply from the mod. I'll consider NFA weapons in trade or if you are in the N. FL area and do concrete work, I need a 40'x50' slab poured I'll be willing to trade.
Incidently, the car's nickname was Blue Light Special, since every time my friends saw me driving the Olds, there were flashing blue lights behind me.
