Mistakes have happened (one or two in five years
), but, as a general courtesy, we don't delete other peoples ads because of third party postings. My money says you did something to get your ad deleted.
It always kinda irks me when someone posts a "Mail Sent
" right after an ad and then are not serious buyers. The "Email Sent" reply does act to ward off other potential buyers. I would also bet that most everyone that has done much in internet purchases gives first dibs to the guys that use email, not the guys that post to the boards.
While this new rule will not get posters ads removed, a "Reply Sent" post will get the ad removed if done before 72Hrs. Answering questions with a new post is the same. It is just as easy to answer by email or by editing the original post.
I think this new rule is a great idea, will help the EE move along smoother, and will be enforced. AR15.com's EE is the best place to advertise on the internet. The rules here are a major reason we've a great site.
