Back on Sept, 6th I answered an add on the EE asking about a 20rd fixed mag with a star on the side that Dieter122 was selling. I asked what kind of condition it was in and since some need to be tinkered with to get running right if anyone had done any modifications on it.
He told me...
"It appears to be in original config, no marks of people dremeling material off or any other mods.....so its unaltered. Has all its finish, its in really great shape overall. I aquired it, and dont need it, so ive never even ran rounds through it."
I told him I would take it and I would send a money order for $40.00 the next day on the 7th.
"Will ship when funds arrive.
Thanks for your purchase."
On the 14th I still haven't received it so I sent a message asking if it had been shipped yet so I would know when to expect it.
Just got the MO yesterday, ill be shipping the mag out tomrorow for you in the mail.
Sorry about the day delay, as I had to travel 3 hours to take a silly pistol safety course for my county, what a PIA... Thanks again for the purchase.
Ok no problem, so on the 24th I send another message saying its been 9 days since he was going to ship it and asked if he had a tracking number for it.
"I just shipped it out a day or so ago, in a foam padded envelope. Sorry about the long delay, but ive been out of town on business for some time. I didnt get tracking on it however. The package is inbound to you, trust me you'll get it."
I don't like empty promises or excuses when I'm dealing with someone. Business is business and that person should be as good as thier word and come through on time as expected. When they say they will do something I expect that.
So I write back to him...
"You told me on the 14th that you were shipping it out the next day. That was 9 days ago. Now your telling me you shipped it a day or so ago huh? Seems like I'm getting the run around here. I sent you a message on the 6th saying I would take it, I sent the money order the next day, good thing for you I didn't wait so long to send the payment huh? I'll give it until Thursday 28th, if I haven't received it by then I'll be going to the post office Friday and file a claim.
Trust you I'll get it huh? Well so far I've gotten nothing but excuses. Its been 2 and a half weeks from the time I sent the money order. Funny how people always have time to put things up for sell, always have time to receive the money but never have time to send the item. You have till Thursday."
"Its called business, and not all of it is predictable. When I have to go out of town on a moments notice for a number of days, sending out a magazine isnt the first thing on my mind, nor on the top of my priority list.
Its in the mail, you can check the post date on the package when it arrives. To prove its been mailed, I have EMAILED you a copy of the receit, showing the envelope I encased the mag in, as well as the shipping charges. You can also see the post date on the receit.
All I have on AR15 is positive feedback, and its like that for a reason...BECAUSE IM GOOD FOR IT.
I apologized for the delay, but I cant help for things that arose between one day and the next, im always on the move.
You should have it by the 28th yes. Its in the mail, and no im not bullshitting you.
So yes, check your email, look at the paper, sit back and just wait for the mag to arrive, as its inbound to you. Dont worry."
I checked my e-mail and sure enough he sent a copy of the receipt just as he said he did.
I received the mag today Sept, 25th and guess what I find? A chinese 20 rd fixed mag with a star on the side just as he said, only problem is, its not like he described. The back of the mag is all beat up as if someone tried and beat it into thier rifle. I'm not talking about scratches in the finish, I'm talking about the metal is chewed up. One feed lip is bent down almost flat like someone flatened it with a hammer, the other feed lip is bent out as if someone pride on it with some pliers. The rear tab on the follower is chewed up so bad its too short to engage the bolt hold open in the rifle.
Only recently I've started buying on the EE. Use to I wouldn't due to the horror stories I have read about how people get ripped off. Up until now the few people I have done business with were honest about what they were selling and were prompt with shipping, they didn't give excuses and it didn't take me 19 days to complete a purchase.
I guess I could complain to him and demand my money back but what good would it do me? If he's gonna lie about the product he is selling and lie about when he would ship it, he would damn sure lie about sending my money back. I'll just chalk this up to a learning experience and move on.
I would never do business with this man again and I wouldn't recomend anyone else doing business with him.
