ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Why?
Link Posted: 9/12/2004 12:23:16 AM EST
As someone who once owned one I have to ask WHY.

They are not even ergonomically fit for pistol whipping someone. . .
Link Posted: 9/12/2004 1:55:41 AM EST
BECAUSE WE CAN DAMNIT!!! Stop thinking like Liberals, how dare you ask why someone needs a certain gun.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you have to.

A question like that, at this point in time, with 2 posts history; I saw one pictured on television last evening during ban expiration discussion. It was a low blow prop . I hope it was not your's 76.

If you are sincere and really want to legally purchase a TEC-9, please read the above posts and consider farther guidance from experianced shooters.

Hell yeah!!

I'm looking forward to getting a no ban tec 9 too!!

While I'm at it, I'm going to pick up a Lorcin, a few Jennings, and a Hi-Point .45

Seriously, those things are crap. Sure, it may be cool for the hi cap mags, but they don't feed reliably, are incredibly heavy, and are woefully inaccurate, even at close range.

If you're gonna rob a liquor store, I suppose they look intimidating to people that don't know any better, but thats about it.

C'mon lads, lets not get all stuffy on the guy. So what if Tec-9's are of questionable quality? So what if they have no practical accuracy? So what if they have little tactical value? You can still have a pretty good time with an inexspensive handgun that takes 30 round magazines. Sometimes just having a good time is what the gun thing is all about right? Lose the trap shooter attitude. If he wants a Tec-9 he should be able to buy one and shoot one in public without the scorn and ridicule of his fellow gun owners.

And they bring a lot of unwanted shit down on all gun owners.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean you have to own it. The makers of Tec 9s and other cheap POS guns are no friends of the 2nd amendment. They are money grubbing bastards only out to make a quick buck.

You are woefully misinformed, my friend. You may not like the quality of Tec-9's but before you go bashing them like that, you need to do some homework. Navegar (the company who owned and manufactured the Intratec Tec-9, Tec-22, etc.) along with Penn Arms is the ONLY gun company I know of that had the cajones to challenge the 1994 AWB in court. They sued the US government and although they lost, appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court but were denied cert. Please tell me of another gun company that went to the trouble and expense these "money grubbing bastards" who are "no friends of the 2nd Amendment" in challenging that law?

I'm eagerly awaiting your answer.

My point exactly.
The [vast] majority of gun owners abided by the AWB to the tune of no [to my knowlege] prosicutions of the law. This, among other factors demonstrating gun owners to be law abiding, may have contributed to it [awb] being so ignored by busy lawmakers allowing the sunset to occour. Carry permit holders know what I am talking about. So should you. Go looking for trouble....

I here, am not looking for trouble. This is just my point of view, and as for the TEC-9, 76, give Treetop a call. As stated above, they are not in production.

P-38, enjoy your stuff. Use good common sense. Represent lawful gun owners with dignity.

-Gotsta' get me a Tec so I can Dump on these Slob-ass Red Coats,
We be Crippin' up in this piece, Folks up, Beeitch.

No. I don't think I'll be going out of my way to get a TEC9.
My buddy had a preban Tec-22 and it was a fun little plinker.

With that being said, A No-Ban MAC-10 in .45ACP with a wire stock and a fake
screw on suppressor might be a fun addition. The weapon would need to be
under $200 However.

Thats just Ghetto.

Go shoot it sideways, with your pants hanging low and a 50 Cent CD on in the background.

Exactly why my MAC10 45 has a place in my armory. It is TOO HEAVY, very FUGLY, and hard to shoot well...

but she sure has a "cool factor" when holstered in a "secret service" rig with a pair of 30's on the offside. The perfect "tool" for dealing with situations like Reginald Denny during the LA riots, or giving heart attacks to liberals.

My dad and I want to get a Tec-9 just to go with the Tec-22 we already own. Kinda finish off the set...
Link Posted: 9/15/2004 9:50:12 PM EST
Tec-22 would be a fun one.

I Had A Tec 9 with like 10 mags and a Fake Superssor I Kept on Having a Problem with the Firing Pin Its Like The Firing pin wasnt hevy enough for the gun . I think It was like a flat firing pin and I had To keep the gun super clean if it had any residue in it the the pin would not strike the primer hard enough .I Ended up trading it for a Colbray M11 .

I hope they don't make this kind of garbage. It is garbage like this and stuff like High point and llama brand guns that criminals steal or buy because they are too stupid or to poor to get high quality stuff.

I don't even want this junk produced...

I don't dispute their right to make cheap POS guns, but they didn't make their junk guns to protect our gun rights. They made them to make money, lots and lots of money. They simply fought the laws because they were making a fortune and had the money to fight. They didn't want to give up a good thing. They are kind of like the pornographers of gun makers. Just because you can sell pornography doesn't mean you should.

If you really feel the need to buy a TEC9, knock yourself out. Keep in mind, however, that you are buying possibly the worst POS foisted off upon the gun buying public. I remember about 10 years ago, I was at a gun show (back in the days when gun shows ROCKED) and a true ghetto type stepped up to a table next to my friend and I, pulled a gun out of a Wendy's bag and asked the vendor for a "clip". Of course, the gun was a TEC9. The vendor to his credit, just said "No" and turned his back on the urban youth. The TEC9 is the ideal gun for that type, a POS that is just as likely to get the user killed through malfunction as hurt anyone else. I've seen them go full auto, fire out of battery, jam constantly. JUNK!

If you have to get that sort of weapon, get one of the Ingram clones. It's a genuine mil-grade weapon. Or get a G17 and some 33 round mags.

And yet, can you name me another individual or company that voluntarily went to court on their own dime to try to beat this law? We all bitched about it for 10 years, yet no one did anything.

Except Navegar and Penn Arms.

But apparently thats not good enough because they may have had a profit motive. Had they won, would you have had to buy a Tec-9 from them? They voluntarily went to court on their own dime to try to beat a law which would have benefited us all. Where was Colt in that suit, where was Bushmaster, where was Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Glock, Browning, Armalite, DPMS? Did you donate any of your money to the legal fight against the 1994AWB? No? Yet you bash Navegar because you say they had a profit motive behind their attempt.

Look, I'm no fan of their products, but give credit where credit is due. Navegar is one of the few gun companies that had the cojones to put up a fight against a law that infringed on all of our 2nd Amendment rights.
