Hey all,
I hope this isn't a stupid question.  My 10/22 already has a 16" fluted bull bbl on it.  I'm thinking of getting a suppressor for some of my .22's.   Since the barrel is already 16" is it possible to get it threaded without shortening it any further?  I don't want to go the SBR route.

Thanks
Rich

You shouldn't have a problem as the material being removed comes from the outer diameter of the barrel and wont effect the length. This is provided of course that you are not attempting this job on a "makeshift " lathe in your garage and will need multiple attempts to make it concentric.

Fatzombie is correct...whatever you do, don't try to use a threading die!

It must be done on a lathe, between centers, to assure bore concentricity.

Cheers,
