I was just curious as to the quality of these scopes.  I have a NXS on my 50 and hadn't thought twice about forking out the dough for it until now.  I was at the range with a friend of mine and he was shooting a 50 with a super sniper scope and I was quite impressed by it.  Will it continue to take the abuse that a 50 gives it?

These fellas been selling them for years: www.riflescopes.com/search.asp?keywords=Super+Sniper&btn_search.x=29&btn_search.y=11, IIRC they say the SS will hold up just fine, note the "50 cal OK"  there.

FWIW, I prefer a Leupold.

My 20x SS failed after 520rnd on my Serbu BFG-50
Switched to a used VX-III Leupold and ultimately an NXS.

Put over 1100 rounds through the AR50 with a Super Sniper before moving it over to an AR10. Never had any problems with it.

I have shot Jeep's and now own a Serbu with a SuperSniper 20x.  Mine is still going strong after 150+ .

thanks for the info.  kinda makes me wonder if i should have spent the money on another rifle instead of the NXS.

Nightforce is great optics.  Personally I strongly prefer a variable power riflescope.  If fixed then10x being about all the magnification I would tollerate.  Too many times I have seen guys searcing for the target outside of the narrow field of view when the magnification is high (fixed or a variable on high power.)  And for a 50BMG I expect to shoot well beyond 1,000 yards on occasion and want well over 10x personally.

I have a Leupold 6.5-20 x 50 LR/T for my 50BMG that is currently "on order", bought the scope slightly used at a good price.  If cost were no object I would have got a US Optics SN-3 3.8-22.

If you are interested in selling your NF scope there are plenty of guys looking for a deal on one!

No, I am quite happy with my Nightforce scope.  I know that it is better than most any other scope, but I have a limited budget for guns.  My limited budget can not even come close to supplying my addiction to guns.  I think some times that I am more addicted to guns than a crack addict is to drugs.

I have a 10x SS on my UL50 and it has worked for over 200 rounds so far...

I know over in Bigghammer.net that you either go NXS or you don't go. But I have a SS 20X on my AR-50 and it has been fine so far. About 150 rounds thru it so far.

I think a lot has to do with the rifle. An AR-50 has very little recoil compared to many other 50's.

I own a 16x42ss and I very pleased with it... it is EXTREMELY well made.
The optics of the 10 and the 20 dont seem as good too me, however I would like to have a side focus model, and the math is easier in my head for 10x, or 20x.  I recomend them becuase there is NOTHING at twice the price that is better.

I have a friend in houston w/one mounted on an AR-50 and although he hasnt shot it much, he is confident that it will be on there for some time.

16X Supersniper on my BFG-50 Somewhere around 3k rounds through both the rifle and the scope. Not a problem. If there was a problem at this point i'd just shell out the 300.00 bucks for another SS.
