From what I remember the TRP is the one that was build for the FBI and has the accessory rail built into the frame.

I only know of the rear-sight (Novak vs fully adj) difference.
The TRP was designed as FBI contract sidearm. I dont think either of them have any accessary rail built into the frame. |

The TRP "Operator" does have the rail. The base TRP does not have the rail. www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-trp.shtml There is also a TRP "Pro" (MSRP $2395) which is also without accessary rail. You can also get the accessary rail on the mil-spec 1911-A1 for a mere $795. |

I recall seeing the mil-spec with the rail for $550. Its being sold as the Mil-Spec Operator. There was a review of it in one of the gun mags I bought last month and they really liked it. Here is one on gunbroker.com for $572 www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=2851959
