Don't know much about them either. But the one's I see at my gunstore have a weird looking muzzle break, attached bayonet, granade site, and the stocks a little banged up for $219. Don't know much more than that.

Make sure you get one with a Milled Receiver and Screw in Barrel. The Russian ines are the best. Great Rifle, I have two.

i have owned several.

Chicom's good shooters. rough machining but functional 100.00+

russian better finish quality shoots as good as the chicom 250.00 - 350.00

Yugo's.... Heavy stock, generally pitted bores due to corrosive ammo. Does have night sites and grenade launcher. Very nice machining on most. Wood can be hit or miss. 179.00 everywhere any more than that is a rip off

Prices are going rates for my area. I have sold all but the yugo. I kept it because it was a little different.

I had a cheap Norinco one that was a absolute blast to shoot.

spending $250-$350 on an SKS is like pissing on your own leg, it feels warm and relieving but you quickly realize that all you have is a wet leg and stink like piss.

go find yourself a cheap one for around $100, you'll get about the same thing.

i have 2 chinese ones i bought before the ban..still shoot good. but the russian is the one to get

Functionally the cheap chicoms shoot as well as any of them. Just makesure the boore is good and you will have no problems.

If you want a wall hanger buy russian. If you want a shooter buy a chicom.

I just purchased an older chinese SKS with a milled receiver, a synthetic Ramline stock and a rear aperture sight for $ 175.00 on Gunbroker.com. I feel that I got a good deal because of the longer aftermarket stock that fits me like a glove. My advice would be to look around thoroughly before you buy.

I can buy the Yugo SKSs in "decent" shape for $120 a peice....10 on the rack, and maybe probably plenty more in the back....some even had matching receivers/stocks...

Just about as cheap as SGN...I'd pick out my own for 10-20 dollars more!
