my 590 is tapped for scope mounts on top, is there anyone who makes a pictionary rail
that i can mount a small holographic sight on

I would agree that picatinny rails would provide more options and flexibility. For my Mossberg 500 Persuader I just put on the Weaver Top Mount Base 417M / 48440 matte. I wanted my small EOTech Holographic model 551 rev F sight on mine. It works outstanding and also will work for these other models Mossberg 500, 1997 & after, also models 590, 835. The price at my local gun shop was good on the wallet also, only $ 6.99.
