I have been a big fan of northface shoes, been wearing them the past couple years and love them but i wear them out too quickly.   Just bought some merrel ventilators and have not decided if i like them or not yet, perhaps should have tried a different pair?  What are you guys using?

I picked up a pair of Nevados shoes from Sportsman's Warehouse back in May after the zipper on my 5.11 boots broke after 6 months of wear. They're waterproof, lightweight (I noticed that more than anything else) durable (my normal stomping ground goes from woodland to beach to rocks in 3 miles) and comfortable. They've held up well for climbing, hiking, and pretty much anything. Not bad for $44, I'd reccomend them to anyone

New Balance All Terrains. Best dang every day shoe I've ever owned. I'm a big dude and most times shoes don't last.. these have. Not only that but they are only around $50.. sometimes you can get a deal from Famous Footwear buy 1 get 1 half off... I've only owned 1 pair for the last 2 years.. the only problem I have is the inside heel is ripped through finally. I use them for gym shoes now.. been wearing Adidas Samba's for a while.. okay shoe but I keep forgetting to get another pair of NB's for daily wear.

Best part about New Balance.. built in the USA.

Right now I have a pair of North Face HedgeHog GTX XCR.

My requirements for everyday shoes generally run:
Vibram Soles for wear and grip.
Gore-Tex for breathable waterproofness.
Low to Mid-Top for comfort and mobility.

For everyday sandals you can beat the comfort, performance, and logevity of Chacos. Pay once, Cry once. I've had the same par for 5 years going.

Looks like you got started on the tactical / gun stuff really young CXS.

Back on topic, at work I wear Danner TFX, off work New Balance, Danner mid length boots, and Birckenstock sandals.

My roommate has a pair of Merrel MOAB ventalators that I am looking into getting!

I've gone through three pairs of these Solomons and I'll keep buying them till they stop production. They are a bit pricey at retail but I bought at least one of the pairs on Steep and Cheap for around $50.

The only change Ive noticed is a lot of shoes using a strap system as opposed to laces.

Salomon makes a great shoe that is light weight and goretex. Fully water proof, but like a sneaker. It's black with the non-tie laces. Don't remember the model.

I believe these are the ultra-lights I wear. Extremely light, extremely comfortable. A pair in day-to-day wear lasts me roughly two years.

Plus they go great with work clothes, jeans, or dress pants.
